THE RAMESHWAR MAHADEV MANDIR, VARANASI
The Rameshwar Mahadev Mandir is the third stop of the Kashi Panchkoshi Parikrama. It is a good place to stay here. It is situated right next to the river Varuna, which looks very beautiful to see. There are many small mandirs in the campus of Rameshwar Mahadev, which in themselves all make different centers of beauty and attraction.
The Rameshwar Mahadeva Mandir lies at the location where the Varuna river enters Varanasi. The Shiva Linga here was consecrated by Shri Rama himself. This is also the place where the first Batti-Chokha meal was prepared in Varanasi and it was done by Shri Rama himself. The Lota-Bhanta Mela is held at Rameshwar Mahadeva in commemoration of that event.
